When I was younger I used to wear dreadlock extensions braided into my hair. I would keep them in for about 6wks at a time, then take them all out and give my (very fine) hair a break before putting them back in. The last time I did this was around 12yrs ago, and when taking them out we got a little impatient with one particularly knotted one and just snipped it out a little way down fromr the root That hair has never grown back, so now I have a tiny patch of fluffy, stumpy hair just above my ear which always stick out.
