Tottenham revive Harry Kane reunion hopes with surprise enquiry

Wait 5 sec.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an enquiry about Harry Kane this summer as the club continue their search for a long-term answer to their goalscoring problems. It has now been three years since Tottenham’s all time top scorer left North London, and it is fair to say the club have not found a replacement capable of filling his boots. Tottenham currently have two £60m strikers in Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, but neither has come close to matching the consistency Kane offered, both in terms of goals and availability. To put that into perspective, Richarlison and Solanke have scored a combined 40 goals across the last two seasons, and Kane, meanwhile, has scored an incredible 102 for Bayern Munich in the same period.Spurs are once again looking to address that problem this summer, with Roberto De Zerbi admitting that improving the attack is now the club’s priority before the September 1 deadline. Several big names have already been linked, including Cody Gakpo, Victor Osimhen and Omar Marmoush, but Kane has now surprisingly entered the conversation as well.Credit: Ollie Watkins (@watkinsstudio)Tottenham Hotspur made recent Harry Kane enquiryEarlier this month, we reported that Tottenham were ‘maintaining close contact’ over a potential move for Harry Kane next year, with the club ‘remaining well informed’ about his situation, helped by a right-to-match clause for their former striker. However, the same source; TeamTalk have now revealed that Spurs have actually made a ‘recent enquiry’ about Kane this summer, with Barcelona also understood to have asked about his situation.Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur have both made recent enquiries about Harry Kane this summer, @TEAMtalk can reveal, but Bayern Munich are now accelerating talks over a new contract for their star striker.https://t.co/dzTuflRtqu— Graeme Bailey (@GraemeBailey) August 10, 2026Despite that interest, Kane’s preference remains to stay at Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old is returning to Bavaria this week following England’s World Cup campaign and, while he has considered his options, a move away would require something significant to convince him.The England captain is entering the final year of his current Bayern contract, but several reports suggest he is ready to commit his future to the German champions by signing a new three-year agreement. That would appear to put an immediate Tottenham reunion out of reach, although it may not completely close the door on one further down the line.Harry Kane reunion with Tottenham Hotspur may still happenAs disappointing as the prospect of Kane extending his Bayern stay may be for Tottenham supporters, a sensational reunion could still remain possible; it may simply have to wait a little longer. We reported a few days ago that Kane is determined to win the Champions League after missing out on the World Cup, with Bayern currently offering him what he believes is the best opportunity to achieve that ambition.Interestingly, TeamTalk’s latest update suggests that even a new three-year contract in Germany would not necessarily end Kane’s Premier League career. Bayern are willing to offer the deal despite his age, while there is a belief that Kane could still return to England for a couple of seasons afterwards.Tottenham have also kept the door open to bringing their record goalscorer home, with the club still keen on exploring a reunion, particularly now that Roberto De Zerbi is in charge.READ MORE: Tottenham ready £42.8m bid for winger after Everton had £30m offer rejectedThe post Tottenham revive Harry Kane reunion hopes with surprise enquiry appeared first on Spurs Web.
