I’m in a lowkey standoff with my vet over my 14 month old German shepherd. I always spay my cats and dogs at 6 months just to make sure there are no babies. But this dog is unusually small and isn’t filling out like GSDs usually do so the vet insists on waiting until she’s 18 months, just in case she might gain a little more muscle. It feels dangerous and irresponsible to me but I’m trusting the doctor. Until she’s spayed, though, I don’t let her off the leash or out of my sight and doggy daycare is absurd. This person will probably just make another post begging for puppy food and vet money.
