“You should become a coach someday. I know you’re very smart and you’d be good at it.” “I’m slowly working on getting my coaching license. I’m taking the course, but it’s getting harder and harder. The more you analyze it, the more you realize that being a football coach is becoming increasingly difficult, and not just because you have to understand tactics. You also have to know how to manage the group, and I feel like football players are getting harder and harder to deal with. They’re not like they used to be. Players back then had much more discipline. They were much more willing to listen and work. Nowadays, I feel like young players are becoming more and more... I wouldn’t say lazy, but they increasingly just want to be stars, without having the discipline to go along with it. They’re more disobedient. And for a coach like me, if I ever become one, that can be difficult because I’m more of a traditional coach. Managing that kind of player is hard.
