The lack of new signings has now left Tottenham fans taking to social media to share their thoughts. The feelings within the fanbase are mixed, with some understanding just why it has been difficult for the Lilywhites, while others are worried it might be a return to the old days. One fan revealed his thoughts if no winger/attacking signing comes through before the new season kicks off: “I think that a proper reliable CF should have been our first purchase. We’ve been missing one since Harry left. But now it’s like an afterthought and we’ll end up in the same position with no one who can get a goal week in week out”Another added: “I don’t even care anymore tbh, the lack of ambition the last half of the window has been completely depressing”One more, though, believed that sales are needed before new players can come through: “We have a bloated squad we need to trim. If were to bring in a winger & a striker we have to get rid of at least 4 while leaving Xavi out until Jan. Romero sale will help, but we’ll need Vic, Takai, to go too. Depending on his recovery, Odobert might get left out too. Lots to do”Another supporter then stated: “We seriously need to sign players who score now because Champions League football next season is important to sign more.”Meanwhile, one feared that it could be a return to the old Spurs: “Usual Tottenham, give the fans a taste of what could be. But fail to deliver the final coup de grace. It’s being going on for years. Ask Redknapp and Pochettino…”One other, though, was confident that Spurs will land their target: “We will get Savinho and gakpo relax And before anyone chirps up they are better than we have currently”But another was frustrated that the attack has not received any upgrades: “It’s absolutely ludicrous that we haven’t made any additions to the clearly weakest area of the squad. The attacking players we have available are the worst in the division.”While another said about the window so far: “Started very well, but now it’s heading back to classic old Spurs under Levy.”Then a final fan said: “I have always said and idc if I get abused, I am not praising the owners for getting buying us a half decent team to compete. They did it to themselves having to spend so much after ignoring the squad for years. The attackers at this club are a disgrace”What are everyone's thoughts on the lack of attacking/winger signings with 15 days to go before the season starts 👇— The Spurs Web (@thespursweb) August 9, 2026Spurs face race against time to strengthen attackThe transfer window slams shut in less than a month on September 1, leaving Tottenham with less time to get deals through the door. For most of the window, however, Spurs seemed to have Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi as their number one striker target, but the forward’s injury effectively ended that chase. Now, the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Victor Osimhen, Dusan Vlahovic, Cody Gakpo, Nusa, Savinho and Ferran Torres stand as some of the forward players linked with Tottenham. It remains to be seen if Spurs do make a move for any of them in this summer transfer window.READ MORE: Xavi Simons shows his class with touching gesture during Tottenham vs GetafeThe post Tottenham Hotspur fans slam ‘lack of ambition’ as transfer reality sets in appeared first on Spurs Web.
