the first four pictures are my hair about a year ago. the last five are what my hair looks like now. in the pics from last year i had already gotten highlights multiple times to make the color blonde which i’m sure damaged my hair, but i did it again in december of last year, and i started flat ironing occasionally but always used oil and heat protectant. last january i got my hair trimmed because i noticed brittle ends, the stylist told me i have dead ends but i was too afraid to cut them all off because i didn’t want my hair too short, even with the amount she cut off j had a panic attack feeling like my hair was too short, ever since then my hair has barely grown at all, i have been trying to grow out my hair for years and now i look back at my hair a year ago and cry because it looked so much healthier and visibly longer then now. my actually hair care routine has lot changed at all, i use all the same products, i use the fino leave in conditioner, exfoliate my scalp in the shower, use olaplex often and k18. i sleep in a bonnet almost everynight and ive avoided heat and any color to my hair, with no visible improvement. i also found out recently i had a vitamin d deficiency which could stop my hair from growing, but i started taking supplements and get more sun now. im sure this is a heat/ bleach damage problem right? im frustrated and exhausted at my hair not going back to how it was before, im obsessed over looking at old pictures and comparing how much healthier and longer it looked and be it visibly looks frayed and short. l i assume i need to chop off all the split ends, but im so afraid of how ill freak out if it looks too short, as i already feel like my hair is too short. would it still be beneficial to cut it off in small amounts over the course of weeks? i never get my hair trimmed but could this be the mistake im making. i just want long hair. i miss what i had. submitted by /u/Weary-Fun4625 [link] [comments]
