Sheilah Gashumba has revealed plans to have an intimate wedding with her partner Alex Bidandi in Europe, away from the attention and interference that often comes with high-profile Ugandan weddings.Speaking on Kasuku Live, Sheilah said she is considering destinations such as Switzerland, Monaco and Santorini for the celebrations. She explained that she would prefer to first have a civil wedding in Monaco before holding the main wedding ceremony in Santorini, while Ugandan family and friends would attend the traditional Gusaba ceremony in Kampala.Maybe in Switzerland or Monaco, I’d want to do a civil wedding first in maybe Monaco then do a wedding in Santorini. Ugandans will attend the Gusaba ceremony in Kampala.Sheilah also made it clear that she and Alex do not want a flashy wedding, noting that holding a huge ceremony in Uganda would attract too much commercial interest from brands and media houses.According to Sheilah, a big wedding would likely see companies seeking to take over different aspects of the event, including negotiating for television rights.
