The full-brother (hip 136) to MGSW and Hill 'n' Dale stallion Barnes (Into Mischief) lit up the board and set a new Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale record at $4.2 million selling to Hunter Rankin on behalf of Flying Dutchman.“He's such a nice horse and we just kind of thought there'd be a couple that we would really try for and he was one of them,” Rankin said. “And it was our only bid on our last bid. He definitely showed himself really, really well. And they prepared him great as they always do. So just thought he would be very expensive, especially with that pedigree.”Bred in Kentucky by Jeff Drown and Don Rachel and consigned by Heartwood Farm, the colt is out of the unraced American Pharoah mare All American Dream who is a half-sister to MGSP Wind Fire (Distorted Humor) and to the dam of GSW Shidabhudi (Practical Joke).Barnes, the mare's first foal, was a $3.2-million yearling in this same sale in 2023 selling to Zedan Racing. FIREWORKS$4.2 million for hip 136, the full brother to BARNES! pic.twitter.com/H5riBiOMAQ— America'sBestRacing (@ABRLive) August 11, 2026The post ‘The Fanciest Horse In The Sale’: Barnes Full-Brother Sets New Mark At $4.2M appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
