Some autistic kids will starve themselves rather than eat food that isn’t safe. Last year with my 6 year old son we tried presenting new foods at school thinking if he saw other kids eating food and didn’t have another choice for lunch he’d eat. Nope. He lost weight fast. His teacher never told me he wasn’t eating. We had to start sending the few foods he’ll eat to school with him. I’m glad you were able to get your kids over it, but mine would rather starve. Not defending CB here, just giving another perspective on the autistic son.
