Elder Scrolls fans think they’ve figured out where the next game is set by deciphering Asha Sharma’s cryptic tweet

Wait 5 sec.

The identity of The Elder Scrolls 6‘s setting has been a mystery and subject of speculation for nearly a decade. However, with Xbox chief Asha Sharma’s latest tweet, fans got a major clue about where the next Elder Scrolls adventure is taking place, and all it takes is for the number of stars to match an in-universe location. To explain what I mean, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma tweeted yesterday that she’s seen and played The Elder Scrolls 6: ********, giving fans the first-ever insight, vague though it is, about TES6‘s setting. That’s eight stars, supposedly standing in for eight letters, and you can bet folks started going haywire over this smallest morsel of information. A lot of theories are already out there since, in a world as big as The Elder Scrolls, there are A LOT of locations, crucial ones even, that have eight letters in their name. One of the more popular ones is that it’s “Sentinel,” which even Michael Kirkbride, one of Bethesda’s most prominent Elder Scrolls developers during its golden age, subscribes to. However, as pointed out by YouTuber One Proud Bavarian, the solution to this equation of ours is “Starfall,” after Starfall Bay, also called Iliac Bay, a major location within Tamriel’s region of High Rock, the rumored setting for The Elder Scrolls 6 in these past eight years. In the teaser trailer for the game, we saw a huge bay in the distance, as well as a very rocky and mountainous region surrounding it, leading players to believe this is where The Elder Scrolls 6 will be taking place. With “Starfall” now broached as a potential subtitle for the game, the theory becomes even more solid in my view. As some have pointed out, though, it’d be kinda confusing for Bethesda to name its next game Starfall after having released Starfield just a few years prior, and while I do agree, I don’t see why the two should collide since the former has literally The Elder Scrolls VI written right before it. TES games have a knack for being referred to by their secondary names, though, so that could be an issue. Still, I’m on board with this theory, and while Sentinel sounds awesome, Starfall just has a nicer ring to it.
