Attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal in NandedNEW DELHI: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal was attacked inside a Gurdwara in Maharashtra's Nanded on Thursday, according to news agency PTI.Badal was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to preliminary reports.In December 2024, the former Punjab deputy CM narrowly escaped an assassination attempt outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar while serving a religious punishment.Pro-Khalistan hardliner Narain Singh Chaura allegedly approached Badal and opened fire at him from close range. A police officer from Badal’s security team intervened and pushed the gunman’s hand upward, causing the bullet to miss Badal.
