USDTHB Eyes US Retail SalesUSD/THBOANDA:USDTHBYES_GroupYesterday Recap Yesterday, USDTHB closed at 33.13, rebounding from 33.08. Meanwhile, July PPI came in at 0.0% MoM, below expectations of 0.2%, while Core PPI was 0.2%, below expectations of 0.3%. Initial Jobless Claims stood at 209K, higher than expectations of 202K, reflecting easing inflationary pressures and a softening labor market, which slightly weighed on the USD. Fundamental – August 14, 2026 USDTHB is expected to trade within a range with a slight bullish bias in the short term. The market is focusing on July Core Retail Sales and Retail Sales, which are important indicators for assessing the strength of US consumer spending and the Fed’s monetary policy outlook. Core Retail Sales are expected at +0.2% MoM, compared with -0.2% previously, while Retail Sales are expected at +0.1% MoM, compared with +0.2% previously. If the data comes in stronger than expected, it could support the USD and push USDTHB higher. Conversely, weaker-than-expected data could weigh on the USD and create room for the Thai baht to strengthen in the short term. Technical USDTHB is expected to trade within a range with a slight bullish bias in the short term, as the price continues to form higher lows and remains above the upward trendline. The pair is currently testing Resistance 1 at 33.21–33.22. If the price can sustain a break above this zone, it could continue higher toward 33.27–33.30, which represents Resistance 2 and an important Order Block (OB) zone. Conversely, if the price fails to break through Resistance 1, profit-taking pressure could lead to a pullback toward Support at 33.15–33.11. As long as this support zone holds, the short-term bullish structure remains intact, with the potential for another move higher toward resistance. However, a break below Support could weaken bullish momentum and increase the risk of a deeper correction. In addition, the Thai stock market is expected to open higher in line with US equities overnight, after the S&P 500 reached a new all-time high, breaking above 7,800. If the Thai stock market follows this positive momentum, it could support the Thai baht and put additional downward pressure on USDTHB in the short term. Bias: Bullish Resistance: 33.21–33.22 / 33.27–33.30 Support: 33.15–33.11 Target: 33.27–33.30 Cut Loss: 33.10
