While Samsung has made the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 available at retail stores for people to try them out, and sent these devices to media houses for testing, the brand hasn’t started shipping them yet to the people who ordered the new phones. The company will do that starting August 4, 2026.The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra units available at the moment at retail stores and those with media houses are running pre-production software. Some of the units that the brand will be shipping to customers in the early stages may also be running the same firmware. According to a report, it has a few issues that the tech giant is planning to iron out with a software update next month.According to Tarun Vats, Samsung is planning to release an update for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in August that may improve thermal management as well as the phone's overall performance. At the moment, it's unclear whether Samsung will ship the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to customers with this firmware pre-installed or release it as an over-the-air update after deliveries begin. If it's the former, the update will likely be available separately for the units currently being used at retail stores and by media houses.
