Żibel has launched its second Tribe Bin in Gozo, giving beachgoers and divers another way to help keep the island’s coastline free of marine litter. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The environmental NGO partnered with Ritual Dive to install the new bin at Xlendi Bay, next to the BCRS machine, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce ocean plastic. The bins are designed to encourage the public to collect rubbish found in the sea or along the coast. After picking up litter, users simply scan the QR code on the bin, log what they’ve collected and receive a code to unlock it before depositing the waste inside.Żibel said it will then take care of sorting and processing the collected material. The organisation thanked the public for supporting the initiative, which aims to make it easier for anyone to play a part in protecting Malta and Gozo’s marine environment. Will you be giving this new Tribe Bin a try?•
