ShareAfter impressing for both the Vancouver Whitecaps and the United States, Sebastian Berhalter has joined Championship side Middlesbrough.Middlesbrough have announced the signing of United States international Sebastian Berhalter from the Vancouver Whitecaps.Berhalter has signed a four-year contract with the Championship side following a reported £1.5m ($2m) move from the Whitecaps.The 25-year-old made 167 appearances for Vancouver after joining from the Columbus Crew in 2022, scoring 20 goals and providing 34 assists.Berhalter also featured for Mauricio Pochettino's side at the 2026 World Cup, scoring and assisting in their group-stage defeat to Turkiye.Boro, meanwhile, missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season after losing in the Championship play-off final to Hull City."It feels great to be here," Berhalter told the club website."I’ve been watching the club closely over the last two years because of Aidan, and I kind of fell in love with the club, especially over the last year with the way they play and the way they fight."This is where I want to be.
