I cannot agree with all of this enough. To put it in the shortest way possible, I have oodles of health issues. My first pregnancy was hell, her infancy worse, and I found myself inexplicably wanting a second baby in the absolute worse way. I had more than one session of scolding myself in the bathroom mirror. Is this hell? Do I think I'm able to do this all again? There's no guarantee I'll have it any easier! We'll be broke-er, more tired, more everything... times two! But baby. And despite knowing it was going to be nightmare like, I did it. I do not regret it because I do love my kids... but there was no reasoning with me that year. They're grown now. We managed to get through it. Were they cute? Sure. Was it harder than the hardest thing i could ever imagine? That too. Logically, should I have risked it? Hell no. Realistically, my husband should have refused it, but he caved because I wanted it so badly. (He's passed away, so let's not criticize him now, please)
