/u/Next-Cut-2996 on I work w/ autistic kids & am a single mother so my son needs Bose headphones, Apple EarPods, an IPad, expensive sports equipments & shoes. I need beauty products, an Apple Watch, apple ear pods, Bose headphones, 2 printers & $200 shoes

Wait 5 sec.

When my son was 4, his father and I divorced. I worked the exact job she does (I’m assuming she’s a paraprofessional) and it was technically part time work, and I obviously knew in the summer I’d need another income. I was able to do that because of some divorce settlement money, and I picked up a delivery job for weekends he went with his dad, and in the summer. How can you not realize you stop getting paid and will need to work when school ends? Also, my son never got things that expensive! That list is absurd. I managed to get my son into ice hockey, and he’s still playing at 13, but I never once begged strangers to pay for it!! I worked my ass off and went without so he could play. People really need to stop using the single mom thing… for those of us who hunkered down and just worked, it’s really hard not to get annoyed by this.
