Colonial Downs will recognize the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance by naming its third race Saturday after the organization which accredits, inspects, and awards grants to approved aftercare organizations to retrain, retire, and rehome Thoroughbreds using industry-wide funding.Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will also present Best Turned Out Horse Awards during the day's three graded stakes races. The Best Turned Out Horse Awards are generously sponsored by Virginia HBPA.“Virginia HBPA is proud to continue its support of Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance's Best Turned Out Horse Awards during the Festival of Racing at Colonial Downs,” said Glen Berman, Executive Director, Virginia HBPA. “This award recognizes the skill and dedication of the grooms who care for these horses each day while reinforcing our shared commitment to their well-being throughout every stage of their lives.”A representative from Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will host the winners of the “Off to the Races” VIP Experience online benefit auction.
