In 2008, Wolfe helped lead a 51-mile kayak expedition down the Los Angeles River to demonstrate that the waterway was navigable, helping pave the way for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to classify the river as “Traditional Navigable Waters” and grant it protections under the Clean Water Act in 2010.
