I also work for a school district. My contract runs august 1 through July 31. It’s the same every year. However, the pay I earn is structured so that I receive a paycheck during my off contract time…most districts do it this way. And since I know in advance when I’m going to be off for the summer, I’m always able to arrange some sort of temporary employment to bring in extra money. I think this is greed, laziness, and poor money management skills on display. That’s just my somewhat informed opinion - based on what the women was asking for, and how she explained herself.
