How Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift's Wedding Helped The NFL Star Stay In Shape

Wait 5 sec.

To quote Taylor Swift, it sounds like Travis Kelce was in a “can’t stop, won’t stop grooving” mentality at his wedding. I note that because while the football player is back on the field, training for the upcoming NFL season, his coach, Andy Reid, is making jokes about how Kelce dancing at his wedding at Madison Square Garden helped him stay in shape. While it can be safely assumed that Travis Kelce, a professional athlete, was training and staying in shape during the off-season, I’m sure his wedding was helpful in that mission too. Specifically, it sounds like the cardio he got in on the dance floor was useful, as Andy Reid joked during a press conference (via Sports Illustrated): He stayed in shape; he did a lot of dancing at his wedding. In the video, you can hear the room start laughing after Reid said this. And it is funny. However, it’s also totally normal for people getting married to think about getting in shape before their wedding. Of course, Kelce was already in great shape. However, it would make sense if he worked to maintain it during the off-season so he was still in tip-top shape when he said “I do” on July 3. Then, the dancing was an added bonus that could have helped him out as the NFL season gets closer to kickoff on the 2026 TV schedule. Not long after the wedding, the Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach shared his thoughts on Adam Sandler officiating, and he revealed the advice the SNL vet gave the newlyweds during his speech. On top of that, one wedding guest said “300-lb men from the football business” were crying over Kelce’s vows. All around, this ceremony sounded like an emotional and incredibly fun event, and I can’t say I’m shocked that Kelce was on the dance floor for a lot of it. Both he and Taylor Swift are known for busting a move, whether it be in the end zone or at an award show, respectively, so it’s incredibly on-brand for them to dance the night away at their wedding. Now, I actually do hope all that dancing has had a positive impact on Kelce as the football season kicks into high gear. Training camp has just begun for the teams, so while Reid was joking, I can’t help but wonder if the wedding is kinda actually helping the tight end with his drills and practice. While I don’t actually know if that’s the case, I do know it really didn’t take Travis Kelce long to get back to work. He and Taylor Swift got married about a month ago, attended a friend’s wedding a week later, and now he’s back in his jersey and pads. Now, hopefully, when his team starts playing games, we’ll get to see some of the moves he busted on the dance floor of his wedding in the end zone.
