Spurs have splashed the cash already this summer, spending £237m on six new signings, with the bulk of the fee going towards the recruitment of both Fernandes and Tonali, who cost £85m and £100m respectively.Their addition certainly increases the competition for places, but Gallagher is adamant he is ready to fill in where he is needed. So far in pre-season, he has been deployed more advanced in the number ten position. Asked whether that is going to be his role going into the season, he told football.london: “To be honest, I am happy to play anywhere the manager wants to play me. “The 10 or number eight in the double pivot, it is fine. I enjoy playing anywhere in midfield. I have found myself in the 10 more often.“It is nice to run forward and I can do what I do best and press well and try and lead from the front. I do not really mind.”Speaking about the competition around him, he continued: “When you play for a club like Tottenham, if there is not competition for a starting XI spot then something is wrong. Obviously that is what comes in playing for such a top club. All the new signings are great lads, like I said. It has been great so far.”Gallagher confident new signings will strengthen SpursThe Englishman also shared his expectations for next season following Tottenham’s expensive recruitment already this summer. Despite signing six players so far, De Zerbi has stated that two or three more signings could still come through the door.Gallagher, however, believes that these additions will make Spurs stronger. He said: “Obviously we have made some great signings already, which is really good for the club. “Great lads too, not just good footballers, which I think is really important to have the right characters and people with us.“It is only going to make us stronger. We went through a really tough season last season and we are so determined and hungry to improve as a team. Everyone is really excited. It is hopefully going to be a really good season for us.”READ MORE: Club only £428k away from reaching an agreement with Tottenham starThe post Conor Gallagher opens up on Tottenham midfield competition with £185m Tonali and Fernandes appeared first on Spurs Web.
