I’ve been losing at least one strand of hair every time I run my fingers through it, even after the 50th time in one sitting. Just running my fingers through my hair. Washing my hair I used to lose probably 50 hairs and now it’s over 150 every shower with the worst being in the 300s. Brushing my hair after is even worse because my hair that loosened in the shower comes out in my comb and it’s probably even more than what I lost before. I know what triggered it, I got married last fall and it has been the most stressful thing in my life so far. I’ve been taking steps to deal with the stress but with other life factors it’s just too hard to manage all the time. My TE has shown no signs of slowing down and it makes me even more stressed. The worst was the 2-4 months after the wedding and now it’s consistently at the 150-200 strand per day loss. I don’t know what to do and I feel like I’ve lost almost 50% of my hair. I (used to) have combination hair- thick and thin strands and I’ve lost almost all the thick strands which makes my hair look that much more sparse and stringy. It gets so greasy now because it’s so dry and I’m using the same products as before. It’s also growing back thinner, like the individual strand gets thinner the closer to the white bulb it gets. I’ve also gotten bloodwork drawn and things are all normal or just barely out of the normal ranges that it could be considered normal. To add insult to injury, I have a history of androgenic alopecia in my family and am so worried I got that gene. How can I fix this? I’m too scared to try minoxidil because of the initial shedding phase since I’ve already lost so much hair. Thanks for reading. submitted by /u/SignificanceGlass539 [link] [comments]
