BJP criticises TVK-led government for lack of facilities in government hospitals - The HinduPublished - July 31, 2026 12:59 am IST - CHENNAIBJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday criticised the Health Department under the TVK-led government over deaths reported in various parts of the State involving State-run medical facilities. He referred to reports that a man died due to a lack of proper medical treatment in Madurai, the death of a 10-month-old child in Gobichettipalayam and a 14-year-old boy going into a coma in Theni district.Health Minister K.G. Arunraj was focusing on posting reels on social media instead of improving infrastructure in State-run hospitals, he said, and further urged Ministers to look into the basic necessities of the people and ensure sufficient doctors and medicines in government hospitals to protect the lives of the poor and the downtrodden.Earlier in the day, along with senior BJP leader Arvind Menon, Mr. Nagenthran chaired a meeting of State and district-level party functionaries in the State headquarters in Chennai. Senior leaders Sudhakar Reddy, Tamilisai Soundararajan and Pon.
