Scalp and density having an inverse relationship

Wait 5 sec.

april 29, june 8, july 10, and today. So, all about a month apart. topical minoxidil once a day (3.5 months) + spironolactone (been on it for a year for acne). It feels like my scalp is definitely getting thicker and my part is tightening up. I am pretty happy with it, can’t wait to see further growth. the minoxidil worked pretty fast, especially around my temples. i’m gonna have to wax my forehead soon🥸. However, I still shed quite a bit every day. It feels like hairs are still constantly falling. Even worse, they are all longer, thick, mature hairs that I’m losing. In the beginning of my minoxidil journey, I had an arduous dread shed where i lost so much hair density. I observed many of the first hairs to fall were miniaturized hairs, which I took as a good sign. Now it’s all my strong, long ones! My density, especially at my ends, is so so sparse. Don’t let these improved scalp pictures fool you. You can see through my hair normally. It’s like boneless stringy and wispy and definitely worse than before. I’m hoping that more minoxidil hairs grow out and get longer so my hair density doesn’t look insane (even tho I don’t really even see that many baby hairs) but obviously it’s not going to be that fast and damn my hair looks bad. I never wear it down anymore. Why do I just keep shedding? Is there anything else I can do to get the shedding to stop? AGA + TE btw. submitted by /u/DiverVirtual7928 [link] [comments]
