Gold rose after the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to keep interest rates unchanged, a decision made despite three dissenting votes and amid the resurgence of the US-Iran conflict. As expected, at its July policy meeting on Wednesday, the Federal Reserve kept the federal funds rate within its current target range of 3.50% to 3.75%. However, the announcement showed that three committee members voted in favor of a 25-basis-point rate hike at this meeting. Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh stated during the press conference that monetary policy tightening in the market has helped policymakers a great deal.
