DRH: Major Trend IntegrityDiamondRock Hospitality CompanyBATS:DRHtroydowvanzandtI went long recently on DRH when I was convinced the C-D leg of the currently forming N wave was definitively underway. I stepped out just before earnings (as is my habit) to avoid the usual nonsense like an overhead supply beatdown (see chart). This is one of the nicer, most structurally sound trends I've seen in a while. The basic unit of price progression in Ichimoku is the N wave. The C-D projection thereof is based on the system's presumption that N waves form symmetrically and proportionally. Not all do, of course. A good many reach the NT Projection and fall apart. A lot make the N Projection before giving up the ghost. A select few make it to full expansion at the E Projection. The N wave I've delineated is remarkable in that it's keeping really tight with trend. You see, the C-D Projection is actually a kind of trend line. Notice that the major N wave has produced in its final leg only one fractal N wave. This trend has some legs. The question for everyone is whether this trend has enough umpf left o make it to the V and N projections. Based on the current structure, I'd say it does. For those who think Ichimoku price projections are arbitrary, note that the wick of the 31 July 2026 candle tested the V Projection. You see these projections acting as support and resistance all the time. As of this writing, I will probably get back in once the overhead supply gets drawn down. I have included the Kihon-sūchi time intervals based off the major N wave in play. If you enter a trade Ichimoku style, start another Kihon count.
