We’ve got an excellent, excellent coach that’s come in, putting a stamp on the team and I’m really excited to see what happens this year.”When asked about his own role next season, given the reinforcements that Tottenham have made to their backline, Davies said: “For me, right now, I’m fully focused on getting back fit after a pretty bad injury at the end of last year and this is a part of it. I’ve had lots of good conversations with the coach and I’m here right now and looking forward to continuing like that.”Davies wants to use his leadership to help his teammatesThe 33-year-old has now been at the club for 12 seasons, and it is clear that he is not likely to get much game time unless there is an injury crisis.That is especially the case next season since Tottenham are not in Europe, but the defender is keen to use his experience to help his teammates in any way he can.When asked if he expects to play a leadership role in the squad, Davies responded: “Yeah, definitely. I think I’ve been around football a long time and that experience definitely counts for something.
