It’s been a rough week for Lucy Dale, who found herself dealing with multiple problems while visiting Milan from the United Kingdom. While trying to shoot some travel content in Italy, she and her father had already dealt with a car break-in on their way to Lake Como. They then returned to their hotel room at the Starhotels Business Palace only to discover that their belongings had been completely cleared out. She then took to TikTok and Instagram in shock. “Not funny at all,” she claimed. “We’ve just come back to our room after a whole day in Como. All of our stuff is gone. Our door was unlocked. I have no clothes!” As she walked around her room in a daze, she told her audience that even her toothbrush was gone. She alleged, “ Literally the only thing left in it is my dad has got a couple of bits down here that he left here and a couple of T-shirts. I’m so confused. This trip actually couldn’t get any worse if I f—ing tried.” Lucy explained that she and her father were not supposed to check out until the following day, yet it appeared the hotel staff assumed they had already left. To make matters worse, the hotel staff allegedly told her they couldn’t do anything about the missing items until the morning because the housekeeping team wasn’t on-site. Lucy was eventually moved to a separate room, but she was left without pajamas or basic toiletries. Help came slowly Social media users were in disbelief at the hotel’s response. One user on Instagram wrote, “Omg, the fact that they say they can’t do anything about it until the morning is also crazy! They should bend over backwards to help you sort it out since it’s obviously their fault!” One TikToker gave the community some security advice, noting, “Thank goodness I bring a pet cam whenever I travel! It notifies me when someone enters the room and records everything.” Interestingly, this exact thing happened at the Orlando Hilton. View this post on Instagram The next morning, Lucy and her father were allegedly told to wait for the manager. “Update. So it was housekeeping that moved everything, but they thought we did an early departure even though we checked in. We were checked in till today to leave,” Lucy claimed after meeting the manager. Some items were returned in a plastic bag, but other essentials like toiletries and medication were missing. Some clothing, like her father’s pants and a Nike shoulder bag, were missing too. Lucy noted that the staff had thrown away items they deemed unimportant, which is a massive oversight for any hotel. In contrast, Nadine only got a hat back from the Hilton and was allegedly offered points in compensation. @lucycdale_ Replying to @allybally the update still soooo many answers needed ♬ original sound – Lucy Dale In the following video, she alleged to the community that the hotel eventually offered 150 euros in compensation, but there was a catch. According to the post, they wanted Lucy to sign a waiver that would prevent her from pursuing the matter further. She flatly refused. “So this is what I’ve been handed. A waiver form, basically to say that if I accept this €150 ($172.70) just to reimburse what has been stolen from our room, I then can’t accept anything else. I can’t chase anything else, which is obviously ridiculous. And I’m not signing that.” View this post on Instagram Many followers were shocked that she hadn’t immediately filed a police report. However, Lucy later explained on TikTok the intense bureaucracy she faced earlier in the trip. After their car window was smashed in Milan, they spent hours at a police station only to see no progress, which made them skeptical that an investigation into their hotel room would yield results. @lucycdale_ Replying to @PixieKateRose part 1 theres still more to our logic!! ♬ original sound – Lucy Dale She detailed the five-hour wait they had endured just to report the car break-in. Given that they had a flight to catch and no passports or high-value jewelry were taken, they decided that missing their flight to stay in a police queue wasn’t worth the trouble. @lucycdale_ Replying to @Lucy Dale hope this clears things up!! ♬ original sound – Lucy Dale Lucy, however, was confident that she would get a resolution. All because her videos reached more than 7 million people. “It would be diabolical for the brand as a whole to ignore this situation now,” she noted in her last video. Now, it remains to be seen how the hotel will react to the situation. Although it should be noted that what we know of the alleged incident purely from Lucy’s perspective.
