Prasanna, Executive Director, KEA, said that 4,54,532 candidates will appear for the examination, which will be held at 884 centres across the State. Strict security measures have been put in place at all examination centres.The recruitment includes 3,395 posts under the Non-Kalyana Karnataka cadre and 596 posts under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre. A total of 3,77,861 candidates have applied under the Non-Kalyana Karnataka cadre, while 76,684 candidates have applied under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre. Arrangements have been made for all applicants to write the examination.On Sunday, the examination for all candidates will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon, while candidates under the Kalyana Karnataka cadre will have an additional examination from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.To curb examination malpractice, technology is being used extensively this year as well. Candidates will be allowed entry into examination centres only after face-recognition verification. Both the examination centres and halls will be under CCTV surveillance.The district police will be responsible for frisking candidates and monitoring CCTV footage, while overall supervision will be carried out by the respective Deputy Commissioners. Mobile jammers have been installed around examination centres to prevent the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices.Webcasting arrangements have also been made for continuous monitoring of examination centres and halls. The process will be supervised by the respective Superintendents of Police and monitored from the KEA Command Centre.The use of mobile phones, cameras, Bluetooth devices, and all other electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited. Candidates are also not allowed to wear wristwatches.Candidates with hearing impairment who use hearing aids must report to the examination centre two hours in advance for verification. They are required to carry their UDID card and medical certificate.Dress codeCandidates are not allowed to wear clothing that covers their head. Full-sleeved clothing is also prohibited. Except for a nose stud and mangalsutra, no jewellery or metallic objects will be allowed. Shoes are not permitted; candidates may wear slippers or low-heeled sandals.Candidates wishing to appear for the examination in religious attire must report two hours early for security screening before being allowed to enter the examination hall.Special arrangement for OMR scanningFor the first time, OMR answer sheets will be scanned not only in Bengaluru but also at Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Mysuru, Davangere, Vijayapura, and Raichur.
