Yesterday’s Sitting Ended With Dramatic Cremona Confrontation9.35am — Yesterday’s sitting ran well past the usual 6pm cut-off point and ended with a dramatic confrontation involving Johann Cremona, a business associate of Yorgen Fenech.Schembri had alleged in court that Fenech’s lawyers offered Cremona money to testify in Fenech’s favour, and also claimed that those lawyers asked him to “help Yorgen” during a meeting arranged by a “very important person”.The claim led Madam Justice Edwina Grima to order Cremona back to court, where he was questioned directly in front of the jury.Cremona repeatedly struggled to answer, saying he did not want to hurt anyone, before later saying he had made the claim up and breaking down in tears.The defence raised concerns about how the questioning unfolded, while the court stressed that only jurors can decide whether or not to believe a witness.
