MSTR: Buy above the 5,000 DMA, Sell at the 2nd lowest other MAStrategy Inc Class ABATS:MSTRRonbrown100MSTR has always historically bottomed at its 5,000 day Moving average, ever since Michael Saylor began buying bitcoin for the company in the fall of 2020. (Meaning this has happened 2 out of 2 times so far). To me, with hindsight being 20/20, the nearly perfect strategy in the past would have been the following: (1) Buy just above the 5,000 Day Moving average. (2) Note the 7 "Puell Mulitple" lines I've drawn on the chart, which are based variously off of certain multiples of the 200 day, 500 day, 1,000 day, and 5,000 day moving averages. (3) Sell half, when you get to the 4th highest of these, ... in other words, when 3 moving averages are still above the stock price, but 3 are below, and you're passing the middle one. (4) Sell the other half at the 2nd highest of the 7 Puell Multiple lines ... meaning sell when there are 5 lines beneath the stock price, and 1 line above it, and you're passing that penultimate 2nd highest line. That's when you sell everything and go short. (That's what would have worked before in other words, ... backtested, not forward tested ... none of this has been forward tested yet ... or whatever the technical term is for it. I've heard the term for when you forward test something, but am currently forgetting what it is. (5) In the counting of these 7 lines, I have left out the 8th one which is the 5,000 day moving average itself ... which should be easy to identify and ignore, since it will be around $45 or so, rather than in the multiple hundreds of dollars. This is all past tense though ... that just means it would have worked last time, not necessarily that I'll work this time. Personally, I plan on doing something similar to this for this cycle though. Not Financial Advice, I am not a Financial Advisor. As a bonus, there is somewhat of a high likelihood in my opinion that MSTR will form its cycle bottom (whatever that price may be) sometime within about a week of 27 August to 31 August ... so if you happen to see MSTR trading near its 5,000 day moving average of between $44 and $45 around then ... that will be a very interesting long term opportunity to consider, if that happens.
