Small thing I made that some of you on Mac might find handy. I'm the dev, it's free and open source. My use case: I download a bunch of models, and before opening them in the slicer I just want to see what's what. Peek3D opens STL and OBJ (+ glTF, FBX, USDZ and more) instantly, and shows: triangle count, plus the model's size in the file's units, so you can spot a model that's 1000x too big or too small; wireframe mode, to see how dense or messy the mesh is; a normals shading mode, which makes flipped or broken faces easy to spot. You can double-click from Finder or drag onto the Dock icon. No account, no internet access. brew install --cask deeeemiss/tap/peek3d, or a DMG here: Peek3D It's a viewer only: no repair, no slicing. If a file of yours doesn't open, send it my way and I'll take a look. submitted by /u/demisss to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]
