Newly unsealed police bodycam footage shows the moment Altoona officers found Luigi Mangione at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s five days after UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot dead outside a Manhattan hotel.A Manhattan judge released the recordings Friday after CNN petitioned to unseal them.Parts of the footage had been previously played at a suppression hearing last December but had not been made public.Thompson, 50, was killed on the morning of December 4, 2024, as he walked toward his company’s investor conference in Midtown.Mangione, then 26, was picked up on December 9 at a McDonald’s in Altoona, nearly 300 miles from the scene of the assassination.Employees had called about a suspicious customer. When officers arrived, they saw a man in a ski hat, surgical mask, and winter coat eating a hash brown while Christmas music played. They told him they were responding to a call about a suspicious person and asked for identification. He handed over a New Jersey license in the name of Mark Rosario, the same name prosecutors say the shooter used at a New York hostel. An officer asked why he looked nervous. They told him to put his hands on his head and asked if he had been in New York.“You’re under official police investigation right now,” one warned. “You give a false name to us again, you’re gonna be arrested for false ID.”An officer said, “That’s 100% him.”Another officer responded, “I told you, man.”Mangione asked why so many cops were there. When an officer later pressed whether Rosario was really his name, he said, “Uh, no, sir.”When asked for his real name, he said, “Uh, Luigi.”When he was asked why he lied, he said, “I clearly shouldn’t have,” then spelled his name.Officers patted him down, read him his rights, and cuffed him in the restaurant.A search of the black backpack turned up a gun magazine wrapped in underwear.WATCH:WATCH: Luigi Mangione’s entire December 2024 arrest via bodycam. This footage was just made public after @CNN petitioned the court for its release post-guilty plea. pic.twitter.com/G4Eaw8KfTi— Erik Uebelacker (@Uebey) October 2, 2026Newly released bodycam footage shows police arresting and searching Luigi Mangione at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on December 9, 2024.Officers found a weapon in his backpack during the arrest. pic.twitter.com/i2UedcvtAp— Al Jazeera English (@AJEnglish) October 3, 2026“IT’S F—–G HIM, DUDE.”Newly unsealed bodycam footage captures the moment officers realize they had Luigi Mangione after finding a gun magazine during his arrest at an Altoona, Pennsylvania, McDonald’s.A later search at the police station uncovered a handgun and suppressor. pic.twitter.com/meLSLCiJ9A— Fox News US (@FoxUSNews) October 2, 2026Officers searched Mangione more thoroughly at the station.Officers found a 9mm handgun that was later tied to the shooting, a silencer, another magazine, and a handwritten journal.Prosecutors have said the notes showed an intent to “wack” a health-insurance executive. One officer, ticking off the inventory on the phone, said Mangione had “a checklist for today” and that “tomorrow he’s supposed to do an intel check-in and get a survival kit.”Mangione pleaded guilty in August to federal stalking charges and faces sentencing in December. The New York Post reports, “His state trial has been postponed while a judge rules on Mangione’s motion to dismiss the murder case.”The post WATCH: Footage of Luigi Mangione’s Arrest Has Been Unsealed appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
