I built a village with Jev AI where nobody knows what’s outside

Wait 5 sec.

I ’ve been trying to work out where Jev from TypeSafe AI fits. My working analogy is the small decisions we make without consciously thinking them through. An LLM can handle the slower, deliberate thinking; Jev could handle quick judgments along the way. It’s not a literal model of the brain, but that’s where I see its purpose. So I built a village to explore it. Jevs Village has six simulated inhabitants with their own jobs, personalities, and memories. Jev helps choose their next action, code controls what’s possible, and a separate language model narrates what happened. The village continues between visits. There’s also a mystery: nobody can reliably explain what’s outside. Even the carter returns with goods but can’t describe his journey. An unexpected extra: watching the village with its music felt calming to me, like a “study with me” video. So I added a Pomodoro timer. You can work alongside them. You can visit without installing anything or bringing an API key: https://www.jevsvillage.com Does that separation between quick decisions and deliberate thinking make sense to you? I’m curious where you’d use it, or where you think the analogy breaks down. submitted by /u/Zazzen [link] [comments]
