West Bengal has reintroduced a tigress into Buxa Tiger Reserve after translocating it from Bihar’s Valmiki Tiger Reserve, with three more tigers expected to be brought in over the next two months. The wider programme aims to rebuild a viable tiger population by improving prey availability, habitats and wildlife corridors while reducing human-wildlife conflict.
