Malta’s national football team is making full use of the new National Football Centre in Ta’ Qali as players prepare for Sunday’s match against Andorra.The facility brings together training pitches, a gymnasium, physiotherapy services, recovery areas and sports science laboratories under one roof, allowing players and technical staff to focus on their preparations without having to travel between different locations.Prime Minister Robert Abela and Education and Sports Minister Byron Camilleri visited the centre, where they watched part of a training session and met national team coach Emilio De Leo, players, technical staff and representatives of the Malta Football Association (MFA). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)During the visit, players and coaches highlighted how the facility has improved their daily preparations, from monitoring physical performance and preventing injuries to conducting tactical analysis and recovery sessions.National team goalkeeper Henry Bonello praised the convenience of having all the necessary facilities in one location, while De Leo said the centre has also helped strengthen team unity by bringing everyone together.MFA President Bjorn Vassallo said the association could now look towards further ambitious projects, including the development of the national stadium.Abela welcomed the feedback from the players, saying the investment was designed to provide Malta’s national teams with the support they need to compete at an international level.The centre, which was largely financed through the National Development and Social Fund (NDSF), with additional support from a Malta Development Bank loan, serves as the technical and logistical base for all of Malta’s national football teams.The facility also includes a UEFA Category 1 stadium and dedicated spaces for tactical meetings and presentations.Malta will take on Andorra this Sunday, with the national team hoping to put its preparations to good use on the pitch.What do you think of the new National Football Centre?•
