President Donald Trump announced a one-time $90 payment for over 20 million Americans enrolled in Medicare. The payments are intended to assist with monthly medical insurance premiums as the midterm elections approach. Most eligible seniors will receive the payment through direct deposit or checks in early October. Additionally, separate payments of $500 are being distributed to nearly one million Americans who purchased health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
