Hi r/SideProject, I'm the developer of PairTake, a camera app now available on iOS and Android. The use case is simple: you're demonstrating something with the rear camera, but you also want your explanation and reaction in frame. PairTake captures front and rear cameras together on compatible phones, so you can compose both views while filming. For a physical product demo, that means showing the detail in your hands and keeping your face in a movable picture-in-picture window. There's also a split-screen layout for a more balanced view. A feature I think is especially useful for demos is the preview-only teleprompter: read your script while recording, without putting that text into the saved video. Basic capture is watermark-free and doesn't require an account. Optional Pro can save separate front and rear files for editing afterward. The hardware limitation is worth spelling out: not every Android phone supports simultaneous front/back capture. Android dual capture generally needs Android 11+ AND a concurrent camera combination exposed by the manufacturer. OS version alone isn't enough. Unsupported combinations fall back to single-camera mode (Android 8+), and buying Pro cannot unlock missing hardware support. On iOS, the app requires iOS 16+ and compatible camera hardware. Please test a short clip before an important recording. It's freemium: basic capture is free, with optional Pro subscriptions or a lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically; your store's purchase sheet shows local pricing. Please check compatibility before upgrading. I'd appreciate feedback on where this workflow would help, or get in your way. submitted by /u/shixuan_lzq [link] [comments]
