as an employee, question for other employees/managers on this sub

Wait 5 sec.

A customer leaves their (very expensive and very cash filled wallet) in the store and I find it and obviously keep in my store's lost and found bin in the manager's office, and the customer returns several hours later. I approach them and ask if they're here for their wallet (didn't open it, just could tell they left something here) and they very happily exclaim yes. I ask them the brand, they get it right, and I return the wallet to them. at this point, they hand me a hundred dollar bill as a reward. I refuse several times, they insist several times, eventually I take it. My question is: is this considered a tip to be split amongst the staff on shift at this time? Or a personal reward for me as the one who found it? (P.S. I am asking after-the-fact to abate my curiosity. I already split it with the people on my shift. submitted by /u/Radyant25 [link] [comments]
