Nature Materials, Published online: 02 October 2026; doi:10.1038/s41563-026-02768-3Momentum-resolved neutron scattering of a mosaic of single crystals of La3Ni2O7, a parent compound of nickelate superconductors, is reported. The magnetic behaviour of these nickelate crystals is distinct from that of cuprates and furthers our understanding of the origin of superconductivity in this class of materials.
