Soldiers from the Armed Forces of Malta’s Special Operations Unit have completed refresher training designed to prepare them to provide lifesaving medical care in combat situations.Over the past two weeks, personnel took part in a Tactical Combat Casualty Care – Combat Life Saver refresher course, focusing on situations where professional medical assistance is not immediately available. The training equips non-medical soldiers with the skills to respond to battlefield injuries, carry out critical interventions and stabilise casualties until more advanced medical care can be provided.According to the AFM, Combat Life Savers also play an important role during casualty evacuations, bridging the gap between conventional first aid and advanced combat medicine.“Train to respond. Train to save lives,” the AFM said as it shared footage and images from the training.•
