Freshman sire Jackie's Warrior (by Maclean's Music) got his first graded stakes winner Saturday as his son LET EM KNOW (c, 2, Jackie's Warrior–America's Tale, by Gio Ponti) upset the GII Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont, a 'Win and You're In' race for the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Keeneland Oct. 30.A maiden winner upstate over this distance Aug. 16, he shipped north of the border for a try in the GI Summer Stakes at Woodbine, finishing fifth there beaten just 3 1/4 lengths Sept. 12.Returning to New York for his shot at Breeders' Cup qualifying, the 12-1 longshot was widest drawn of the field in gate 12 but had plenty of early speed to stick with the frontrunners while two wide down the backstretch. The field bunched up as maiden leader And the Runner Is (Oscar Performance) slowed things down early, putting up an opening quarter in :24.81 as Let Em Know stayed safely wide of traffic trouble nearing the half-mile pole.Still bunched through the half in :49.24, the pacesetter now had company and Let Em Know was lurking just behind, poised for a run but having to go three wide to do it. With nothing but clear air ahead of him with a furlong to run, the longshot had to fend off a handful of challengers close to home but stayed just away, denying Roscoe Goose (Olympiad) to get the win with Pass On By (Not This Time) winning a photo for third.Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0.O-Tate, Anthony, Pickerrell, Joe, B and E Racing and Diamond T Racing LLC; B-Dixiana Farms LLC; T-D.
