Gerwyn Price has admitted that he was ‘upset’ with Nathan Aspinall during their World Grand Prix Darts semi-final on Saturday.Price beat Aspinall 5-2 to reach his fourth final in the event, but he was left frustrated by his opponent’s mid-match complaints.Price admitted that he gave some advice to Aspinall backstage during his 5-2 semi-final win in the World Grand Prix Darts in LeicesterGettyThe Welshman revealed that he had given some friendly advice to Aspinall backstage at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.Aspinall was getting agitated by the crowd during their semi-final, but Price felt they were more on his mate’s side.And he made sure to make that point known, admitting that he was annoyed that Aspinall was ‘performing’ for the fans.“I think it was a bit of a poor game, up and down,” Price told Sky Sports on stage post-match.“Nathan was complaining about the crowd, but they were on his side!“I’m 3-0 up and I go back and said to him: ‘They’re on your side bud, stop performing on the board and just play darts’.”He added: “I was a upset with him a little bit. I said: ‘They’re on your side bud, I’m up against it’.“As good as the crowd is for me, they were all for him. “He’s performing a little bit on stage. “I’m good friends with Nathan, but sometimes you’ve got to let your darts go.” Price admitted that his game was affected in the semi-final, but he managed to secure a 5-2 win in the endGettyWhat else did Price say about his win?Price went on to admit that his frustration around Aspinall and the crowd ended up impacting his performance.“It did [affect my game],” The Iceman said. “I’m frustrated 90 per cent of that game and it’s not good.“I’m glad to come through the game. I’m great friends with Nathan, but take it on the chin sometimes when you’re losing.“In patches I’m playing well enough [to win]. It’s a bit frustrating in patches. I need to improve.” His 5-2 win didn’t show that he needs to improve too much though, as he averaged just below 90 and hit six 180s.Price will now wait to see who he will face in the World Grand Prix Darts final on Sunday night at the Mattioli Arena.He will take on either Luke Humphries or James Wade in the best-of-11 showpiece that is set to get going at 8pm.
