Malta has been ranked among the 10 best countries and territories in the world for living and relocation in the 2026 Rumavi Global Relocation Index.The country placed 10th out of 192 with an overall score of 69.8, putting it behind Czechia, St Kitts and Nevis, Hong Kong and Lithuania.Malta performed particularly strongly for digital nomads, ranking 12th globally, while it placed 18th for tax-friendliness, 22nd for retirees and 26th for entrepreneurs.However, its position was considerably lower when it came to families, where Malta ranked 43rd.The index highlighted Malta’s currency and banking infrastructure as one of its strongest areas, awarding it 97 out of 100, while English proficiency received 88 points.At the other end of the scale, Malta scored just 21 out of 100 for green space and 57 for street safety.Estonia topped the overall ranking with 72.8 points, narrowly ahead of Singapore on 72.6 and Malaysia on 72.
