Harry Kane was released by Arsenal as a young player, but he has built an outstanding career with Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich while becoming one of England’s greatest ever strikers.Arsenal decided that Kane was not good enough to keep in their academy, and the decision allowed Tottenham to sign him. He went on to become a legendary figure for Spurs before joining Bayern Munich, where he has won trophies that were unavailable to him during his time in north London.Kane faced Arsenal many times as a Tottenham player and often performed well against them. He has also encountered Mikel Arteta’s side since joining Bayern, but he believes the media exaggerate the personal rivalry surrounding those fixtures.Kane Downplays Arsenal RivalrySpeaking to Bavarian Football Works, Kane acknowledged that Arsenal remain a strong opponent and that he has enjoyed many competitive battles against them. However, he insists that the storyline is more prominent in the media than in his own mindset“I don’t know, the media make this story bigger before the game than it is for me. Arsenal are a strong team and I had a lot of great battles against them over the years.“Obviously it feels a bit different with Bayern than it did then with Tottenham. Obviously I can’t completely ignore this background, but I’ve also played against Arsenal with Bayern a number of times now. The main thing for me is doing my job and winning the game.”Kane’s comments show that he respects Arsenal as an opponent but no longer views matches against them solely through the lens of his childhood release. He is focused on helping Bayern win rather than seeking personal revenge.(Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images)Arsenal Rejection Shaped KaneAlthough Kane downplays the rivalry, Arsenal’s decision to release him played a part in shaping his determination. He has previously explained that being let go at a young age gave him extra motivation to prove people wrong throughout his career. That motivation helped him become Tottenham’s record goalscorer and England’s all-time leading scorer. His success at Bayern has further confirmed the quality that Arsenal failed to recognise when he was a child.Kane now approaches Arsenal fixtures professionally, but the history between him and the Gunners remains a compelling part of his story. Arsenal’s decision to release him remains one of football’s most notable examples of a club missing a future superstar._____________________________________________________________________________________________ADMIN COMMENTSo here are some simple rules which I must insist commenters follow….You agree not to give any personal abuse to other Arsenal fans.
