Tottenham Hotspur may feel vindicated about their decision to loan out Radu Dragusin after the centre-back’s latest outing.Dragusin will have felt hard done by at Spurs, with the centre-back struggling to get much game time across his two and a half years at the club.Just when the Romanian had started playing regularly and coming into his own, he suffered an ACL injury back in January 2025, which saw him miss a year of football. The 24-year-old found himself way down the pecking order when he returned to fitness and was little more than a spectator last season during Spurs’ relegation battle.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramVideo: Tottenham loanee Radu Dragusin gets sent off against PolandIt did not come as a surprise when Dragusin completed a loan to Fiorentina with a £21.4m obligation in the summer, and the defender has not had a good start to his spell with the Viola.Fiorentina have conceded 12 goals in their four Serie A games so far and sit just one place above the drop zone in Italy.Dragusin is not faring much better for his national side either, with Romania getting thrashed 6-0 against Poland on Friday in the Nations League after the former Spurs man was sent off on 22 minutes. The defender failed to deal with a ball over the top of the defence, and pushed Roberto Lewandowski to the ground after the Barcelona striker took a touch past him in the box. However, the replays look more than a little harsh on Dragusin…No, unfortunately dragusin drags his hand and pushes him pic.twitter.com/OU6xQJOijU— Vlad_12 (@IVlad_12) October 2, 2026Dragusin continues to show he is prone to mistakesWhile many identified the former Genoa man’s main weakness at Spurs as his lack of quality on the ball, the centre-back was also no stranger to unforced errors.Dragusin was also sent off for Tottenham in their Europa League clash against Qarabag back in 2024, after suffering a lapse in concentration and fouling the opponent. The former Spurs defender will have to remove this from his game if he is to evolve into a top defender, and at the moment, Spurs will be pleased they stand to get back the money they paid for the defender two years ago.READ MORE: Six Tottenham legends who deserve a statue after major update on club plansThe post Watch as Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin sees red for harsh Lewandowski moment appeared first on Spurs Web.
