I'm a new nurse considering taking a job at a dedicated psychiatric facility. The pay is great, the facility is nice, and it's apart of an excellent network. I was good at psych and the coursework came surprisingly easy to me, but I never seriously thought I'd find myself considering a job in psych. My main concern is that if I wish to move on someday it will be difficult to be hired in a non-psych specialty if my work experience is exclusively in psychiatric nursing.
