Tottenham starlet Souza has finally made his first appearance for Porto, and the left-back has won people over almost instantly.Spurs fans were understandably starting to get concerned about the 20-year-old Brazilian, as he had not played a single game for Porto, more than a month on from his switch to the club.Last week, it was reported by one Portuguese outlet that Souza was still getting used to the system of Porto manager Francesco Farioli, and that he would be in action for the club soon.Their assessment proved correct, with the young full-back getting an opportunity to impress in Porto’s friendly against Deportivo La Coruña on Friday, and he grabbed the chance with both hands.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramTottenham starlet Souza admits he has had a ‘wonderful experience’ at PortoAccording to a recent update by A Bola, Souza left the Porto fans ‘drooling’ with his impressive performance against the Spanish side. Many of them are already convinced he is the ‘real deal’ after watching him play just once. The left-back has now admitted that he was delighted to make his bow in a Porto shirt and is keen to feature in a competitive fixture soon. When asked about his debut for the club, Souza told Porto Canal (as relayed by Sport Witness): “I felt really good; I’m happy to make my debut in this beautiful, wonderful shirt. I want to highlight the squad, which is ready for the League matches and the return to competitive play.”When asked about his time at Porto so far, he said: “It’s been a wonderful experience, better than I expected. Everyone at FC Porto has welcomed me warmly and is helping me with the adaptation process. I just want to give something back.”Why Spurs will be expecting Souza to get game time soonAccording to reports, unusually, no intermediaries were involved in the negotiations between Tottenham and Porto over a loan deal for Souza. That suggests that there is a level of trust between the two clubs, with Spurs seemingly convinced that the youngster would get game time at the Estádio do Dragão.With Porto also dealing with injuries at left-back right now, the Tottenham youngster’s first competitive appearance for the Portuguese club is likely not far away.READ MORE: Sandro Tonali reviews are in but ‘casual’ Tottenham star is no ‘Pirlo’ after Italy vs FranceThe post ‘Better than expected’ – Souza reacts after winning Porto fans over in his first appearance appeared first on Spurs Web.
