Micky van de Ven has emerged as a target for some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, even though he only signed a new Tottenham contract in the summer.Van de Ven was appointed the new Spurs captain by Roberto De Zerbi in the summer after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal at the North London club. The Dutchman is now one of the highest earners in the Tottenham squad, which reflects his importance to the current project. However, after Spurs’ poor start to the season, there is already plenty of speculation suggesting that the 25-year-old is on the radar of some top Premier League clubs.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramTottenham are relaxed about Liverpool’s interest in Micky van de VenIt first emerged a couple of weeks ago that Liverpool have identified Van de Ven as a top target to replace Virgil van Dijk, who is expected to leave Anfield when his contract runs out next summer. However, journalist Pete O’Rourke has now made it clear that Spurs are not fearful of losing the centre-back and have no interest in entertaining any offers for their captain. When asked about the Reds’ interest in Van de Ven, O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Tottenham are quite relaxed about this. They tied down Van de Ven to a new contract in August until 2031. So look, Tottenham hold all the aces here, he’s been made club captain as well, so I can’t imagine they’ll be too keen to lose such a key player.“Spurs won’t be entertaining a sale anytime soon. Top players will always attract interest and have suitors, but he’s under a long-term contract at Tottenham and they’re planning for life with Van de Ven.”Michel Vorm makes confident claim on Van de Ven’s commitment to SpursLiverpool are not the only side chasing the Dutchman, with reports indicating that the Tottenham captain is also on Man United’s wishlist. However, speaking to the club’s official website a few days ago, Michel Vorm insisted that his compatriot is fully committed to the ongoing project at Spurs. The former goalkeeper said about Van de Ven:  “I spoke with him, I think, just after he signed for Tottenham. The thing is, he came from Germany, a totally different league, so the question was could he do the same here that he did in the Bundesliga, especially intensity-wise? He’s very fast, so he had to adapt, he’s overcome a couple of injuries and look at him now. Wow. He’s a machine.“I think also with his age and his leadership on the pitch, I think he’s going to be a very, very important player for Tottenham, but also for the national team of Holland. He’s signed a new deal, he’s committed to the club, and this is what you need. Both parties made a real statement – and he deserved it. For us, it’s brilliant.”READ MORE: Watch as Tottenham’s Mathys Tel scores dramatic late winner for France U21sThe post How Tottenham feel about Man United and Liverpool's £90m interest in Micky Van de Ven appeared first on Spurs Web.
